Where are your mushrooms grown?
All our mushrooms are grown in North America, on USDA certified farms with farmers who have been cultivating and processing medicinal mushrooms since 1996. We do not import any of our mushrooms.
Why North American grown?
- Mushrooms grown overseas are not required to follow or report the same regulations.
- We do not want our ingredients processed, shipped, or stored, with harmful chemicals.
- US Grown, with a couple of farms that we closely monitor, allows us to have complete control.
Are your mushrooms lab tested?
Yes, we work with a third-party lab to test for microbials, heavy metals, and foreign matter. If you require a specific type of lab test, let us know. We will often work with third party labs to analyze other compounds.
What part of the mushrooms do you use?
We use a mixture of mycelium and fruiting body, which contains less than 5% of residual substrate (organic brown rice). A combination of mycelium and fruiting body is the best way to go, because of the differing compounds and solubility. Depending on which compound you are after, some are found in higher concentrations in mycelium, some are found in higher
concentrations in fruiting bodies. The only benefit in avoiding mycelium would
be if a farm is trying to quickly "turn" blocks and not allowing enough time for the mycelium to consume the substrate. This is often a rookie mistake, common with new farmers. Every batch of mushrooms is grown from young cultures, closely monitored through the growth cycle, harvested at the optimum stage of growth, and then carefully processed to ensure potency.
What’s your process for making mushroomliquid extracts?
The extraction process is unique and take this “low and slow” approach so that it results in highly potent extract you can truly feel. The process involves 3 steps:
- We ferment the mushrooms. By doing this we break down the tough outer cell walls making the polysachariddes, triterpenes, and alkaloids more bioavailable.
- Then, we use filtered water to draw out the polysaccharides.
- Lastly, we put the mushrooms through an organic alcohol bath further drawing out the triterpenes. This entire process takes over 100 days.
All our extracts are non-alcoholic glycerite, we distill the alcohol out and stabalize with organic glycerite. VG. This produces a sweeter taste.
What Are Mycelium?
Mycelium is the root-like part of a mushroom, growing inside its food source, like a log or soil. It’s like a plant’s roots, soaking up nutrients to help the mushroom grow. Think of it as the base in a fruit analogy. Mycelium contains nutrients like beta-glucans that are known to support health.
What Are Fruiting Bodies?
Fruiting bodies are the mushrooms you see above ground, like fruit on a plant. They grow from mycelium to spread spores. Packed with nutrients like antioxidants.
Why Use Both Mycelium and FruitingBodies in Our Products?
We use both mycelium and fruiting bodies in our mushroom supplements to capture the most health-supporting compounds, like beta-glucans and antioxidants. Mycelium, the root-like part, and fruiting bodies, the visible mushrooms, each offer unique nutrients that may support
wellness. Our 100-day triple extraction process pulls out a wide range of compounds by using water, alcohol, and heat, ensuring a full spectrum product.
